Ziano di Fiemme
Ziano is a well known tourist centre that lies along the state road nr.48, at the foot of the Pizzancae and in front of the Lagorai Group. This is the starting point for the excursions up to the Monte Agnello and the Lagorai. The village main characteristic is the numerous sawmills, the biggest of the valley. The church Madonna di Loreto was built in 1666, enlarged and repeatedly restored. It has a mediaeval atrium around the door looking to the town hall and a portal made of sculptured wood. On the inside there are a Via Crucis (1826) and a sundial (1835).
To the north of Ziano a path leading to two hematite mines "Cava del bol" begins. This soft stone was used by the shepherds and the huntsmen to paint everyday life scenes like the chase or else in the rocks of Pizzancae and Dos Capel.
