Valle di Ledro

This valley is characterized from the homonym lake, that is its main natural attraction. The Lake of Ledro, long about three kilometres and large a little more of one, was born from a morainic barring, and is used as hydro-electric basin for the power station of Riva del Garda. On its banks important testimonies of human prehistoric settlements have been found.
The pile-dwelling on Lake Ledro is one of the most important documents about the first inhabitants of our alpine valley: we are dealing with a whole village (more then 10.000 piles) from the Bronze Age, which goes back to almost 3.700 years ago.
