Valle di Cembra is the land of that special and unique Italian liquor called "grappa". The production of the grappa has improved in the last few years thanks to new distillation techniques. Moreover, on the cultivated terraces of the area grow the grapes for the Müller Thurgau, a delicate white wine, which was created in 1882 by the German researcher Hermann Müller and which was introduced in Trentino in 1939.
The production of smoked pork meat, as well as the one of smoked ham (speck) is also very important: this technique was used to preserve the meat when refrigerators did not exist yet.
