Nature

The Highland of Pinè and the Valle di Cembra are geographically close but deeply different in traditions, customs and most of all in the geographical conformation: there is a deep contrast between the wide highland and the wild roughness of the Valle di Cembra.
Thanks to its physical characteristics and to its particular exposure to the sun, the Cembra valley represents an unique example among the valleys of Trentino. The mountains that frame the valley are a series of peaks, lakes and plains. This area clearly shows the problems that man had to face when he introduced agriculture. The sides of the mountains, down until the river, are arranged in terraces, where the grapes for Müller Thurgau and Schiava are cultivated.

The Valle di Cembra is also famous for the Pyramids of Segonzano, earth pinnacles formed by natural erosions.
In deep contrast to the Valle di Cembra, the Altopiano di Pinè displays a sweet landscape, with small villages and hamlets; in the middle of the highland, the two lakes of Serraia and Piazze stare at the sky like two big blue eyes among the dark woods.
Laghestel is a wonderful untouched natural reserve and protected area.
