Cembra
It is the chief town of the homonym valley.
The centre is characterized by noble palaces and rural main street. Here has been found the "situla reto-etrusca" kept in the Art Museum of Buonconsiglio, in Trento. The "situla" of Cembra is the symbol of the local viticulture; you have to visit the Wine-cellar of the Valley of Cembra, the highest in Italy, that produces the high-quality Müller Thurgau.
In fact there is a very strong production of wine together with the industry of porphyry. Very wide-spread is also the cultivation of small fruits.
In the historical centre it stands the church of San Pietro, one of the most interesting of the valley of river Avisio. It is a Gothic building, yet conserving inside pictures and reminders of XVI century. The construction has near a medieval steeple.
Five kilometres far there is the Lake Santo, that offers a wonderful view on the Alps of Pinè.
